New member in the local zoo - Fennec Fox, and its cage details

A few days ago, after a long journey, five Fennec Foxes from Guangzhou successfully settled in our local zoo. This is the first time that the city zoo has introduced Fennec foxes.

These 5 Fennecs are famous. If you watched an animated film "Zootopia", you will remember Nick's "son" in the movie. The Fennec fox is its prototype.

In 2015, the Fennec Fox was included in the IUCN Red List: Endangered Species (LC).

In addition, the Fennec fox is also listed in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Fennec foxes are protected by relevant laws in Morocco (including Western Sahara), Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt.

The Fennec fox is one of the smallest canines in the world, the size as a kitten. It has a fur from milky white to pale yellow, and the sole is pilose. The huge ear is easy to identify, the ear is 15 cm long, and the ratio of the ear to the body is second to none in carnivores.

The Fennec fox lives in the deserts of northern Africa and West Asia, and its fur, ear and kidney functions are adapted to the dry environment of high temperature and water shortage. Usually foraging at night, eating a wide range.

The safety netting for the Fennec fox in my local zoo is a stainless steel wire rope mesh product provided by us. The height is 2.5m, the rectangular cage is 10 meters in length, and the top and side are all covered with stainless steel wire rope mesh, which is both beautiful and safe.

It is reported that after the quarantine period, the five Fennec foxes will officially meet with tourists.
